The Old Auction House

The Old Auction House An Independent Creative Hub in Kyneton, Supporting creativity and art in the Macedon Ranges.

The Old Auction House is a creative hub showcasing the emerging artists and creatives of Regional Victoria and beyond. With two Galleries that specialise in emerging and mid-career contemporary artists individually and in group shows, an Australian Handmade Shop featuring more than 100 makers as well as a busy schedule of Creative Workshops by an ever expanding list of local artists in everything

from Silver Jewellery to Leadlight or Illustration. The space is also home to Leadlight By Ettore, a multi-generational glass arts teaching studio and Kyneton Craftery, a craft and maker studio who run both adult workshops and kids birthday parties in a range of crafts including polymer clay, jewellery making and scrapbooking. The DiPilla family bought the derelict historic 1880's timber building in 2016, known in the town as the Ferris Auction House which it housed for 90 years. The 1/4 acre under roof building was in uninhabitable condition and after six months of intensive renovations, the shop and glass studio were opened with the gallery and more artist studios opened 3 months later. The Old Auction House officially opened on April 22nd 2017 and remains a completely family-owned creative hub in Regional Victoria. The restoration of the back sections of the building are currently on hold but are hoped to add another large creative teaching studio to the hub.

Tomorrow is the last day to see this solo exhibition by photographer Paul Melnyczuk.
Through his photography, Paul aims to capture not only an image through his lens, but the emotion behind the moment.
Although Impressions is Paul’s first solo exhibition, he has been photographing landscapes and the world around him for years. Come and get a glimpse of the memories he has captured with his camera in the Studio Gallery.

Impressions is a solo exhibition by longtime photographer, Paul Melnyczuk.
Paul has been photographing his world since the early 1980s, and he credits the lack of technology and digital images from this era in honing his eye and the use of the camera.
Come and experience these impressionist landscapes that Paul has captured with his lens.

Impressions is on display in the Studio Gallery until the 1st of June.

Paul Melnyczuk has been photographing his world since he picked up a camera while spending three years in Africa from 1981.
This collection of works started in Scotland during the COVID-19 lockdowns, when he started taking landscape photos. When he moved to Australia in 2024, he continued to capture his new surroundings as he explored Australia from Byron Bay, Mission Beach, to Mt Macedon and more.

Impressions is on display in our Studio Gallery until the 1st of June.
