IN THE SPOTLIGHT | Tony Jackson |
'These works respond to the shifting ecosystems that emerge in and around water as our climate transforms with global warming. Using vivid colour, fluid lines, and bold abstract shapes, the paintings imagine new hybrid landscapes where land and water intersect and spaces are reshaped by warming seas, depleted rivers, and rising coastlines.
Water remains a constant presence in my practice. I’m drawn to its fluidity, perpetual motion, and chemical qualities as liquid, solid, and vapour. Through these works, I explore water as both physical and symbolic force; an element that shapes our environment while also reflecting our inner states.'
