Visitor Isobel McKay, kicked off her shoes and put our baldwin organ through its paces today.
The organ was donated by Dot Hansell in memory of her husband Horace( Horrie). Dot and Horrie spent many years playing dance music for regional audiences.
It's so good to hear the instrument vibrate into life under the skillful hands of Isobel!

This treasured object in the Kandos collection is a model house covered in shells donated by the Slapp family.
This week we were guided through the condition assessment and trained in conservation cleaning by Bathurst based conservator Anne Gaulton. It is a slow careful process and will take some time.

The wonderful people who drive our front desk are having this week off. Call it a deep winter break. Behind the scenes there'll be some much needed maintenance taking place.
Back to normal hours next week from Wednesday 29 July.

Help wanted!
We were donated an old B&W TV a while ago. Its fabulous but it does need a little tender lovin' care - and we think some new capacitors.
We are looking for someone to "recap" this fabulous Aussie made 1960's Philips TV. It even comes with a "remote" that is hard wired in.
If you are an old TV tech with some time to spare or know someone that can help with this project get in contact: we would love to hear from you. [email protected] or phone (02) 6379-4600 or DM.
