Live the folklore and romance of yesterday’s Australia in every piece of this eye-opening collection. The award-winning attraction is more than a vintage precinct – it’s a tangible buzz of things past with over 50 original buildings with intact interior displays, original machinery and vehicles, plus thousands of antique items and period memorabilia. It is regarded as the most significant vintage collection ever assembled in Queensland, and is located just outside the township of Herberton high on the Atherton Tablelands, about 90 minutes drive from Cairns.

Herberton is turning purple. 💜

The Herberton Jacaranda Festival is back this Saturday 17 October, bringing the town’s historic streets to life with live local music, entertainment, buggies and market stalls.

Take a ride on the historic Peckett Steam Train, explore the Herberton Mining Centre, wander through the Tin Town Markets and admire the jacarandas while they’re putting on their annual show.

Then make a day of it with a visit to the Historic Village Herberton. 💜

A: It's the Tin Pannikin Pub. While most buildings at the Historic Village date back to Herberton's pioneering days, the Tin Pannikin Pub was built in the 1970s using historic materials from several North Queensland hotels. Keep an eye out for the 1926 Essex ute on the roof, a nod to the famous Ettamogah Pub.
