Our rolling display for April is Seven Ancient Metals that shaped the world.
Ancient civilizations only knew these seven metals, gold, silver, copper, iron mercury, lead and tin.

The rock of the month is Grossularite Garnet chemical formula Ca3Al2(SiO4)3 from Mount Garnet.

We are open again following the yearly closure in February.
The March rock of the month displayed on the Visitor Information Centre front counter is Basaltic Scoria with peridotite zenoliths from Mount Quincan Yungaburra.

This month it is limestone from a Mount Garnet quarry.
