EVERYTHING THE LAND REMEMBERED at Weswal. An exhibition featuring artists in residence at Goonoo Goonoo Station. The work captures both the immediacy of their time - through sketches and 'plein air' responses - and the deeper reflections developed later in their studios from memory, photographs and notes.

Inspired by the landscapes around Tamworth and Moonbi.
OPEN 9.30am to 2pm, Weekends, Monday & Wednesday, until 31 May.

Today’s en plein air class was a huge success, set in the (very dry!) gully behind the gallery. Booked out and thoroughly enjoyed by the participants.

A big thank you to our wonderful, energetic teachers Susie Mander and Margaret Westcott—both currently exhibiting in 'Everything the Land Remembered'. This exhibition grew out of a November 2025 residency at Goonoo Goonoo Station, where a group of artists from WAC immersed themselves in the Tamworth landscape. The works capture that experience—from immediate plein air sketches to studio pieces developed later from memory, photos and notes.

Featuring scenes from Goonoo Goonoo and Moonbi Lookout, plus sketches and a behind-the-scenes photo montage of the artists at work—it’s a beautiful insight into process and place.

✨ On now — view online or visit the gallery for the full experience.

🎨 Coming up: we’re planning a soft pastel workshop in June with the incredibly talented Lucy O'Doherty (also exhibiting with us in June!). Keen? Let us know—spots will be limited.

EVERYTHING THE LAND REMEMBERED EXHIBITION
It was great to welcome our exhibiting artists to the gallery today—there’s something special about seeing them connect with the works in person and with each other.

Pictured are some of the group from WAC.....and Rowan Matthews, friend to many of the group and teacher at WAC too.

If you haven’t visited yet, we’d love you to drop by. The exhibition features a compelling mix of thoughtful abstract landscapes, ceramics, and more traditional landscape works. It’s a wonderful opportunity to experience the richness of our regional environment through different artistic lenses—and to see just how varied and inspiring those interpretations can be.

Huge thank you to LUCiA MiG for coordinating the Sydney end of this exhibition.
Pop into the gallery, the exhibition is on for 4 weeks.

OFFICIAL OPENING TOMORROW @ 3PM, Saturday 6 December 2025

'UNDER THE SAME SKY'
Come and see what Elouise Roberts and Isabelle Devos were looking at, drawing & painting, when preparing for this exhibition. They found inspiration from the farm at Bowling Alley Point, Chaffey Dam, Dungowan vistas, the hills of Nundle, the vast Liverpool Plains and all roads in between.

Discover a beautifully crafted collection of paintings that capture the quiet, familiar places we hold dear and often seek out. Each work offers a calm, reflective glimpse into scenes you will sense you recognise, yet see with fresh appreciation.
