Elvina Florenca for 'Whale fluking'.

A big thank you to everyone who voted and congrats to Elvina. This beautiful reduction fired piece was snapped up by a happy purchaser and is now in its new home.

This year’s Curator's Award went to Lizzie Warburton for her skillfully sculpted Braham Bull.

Lizzie’s current work focuses on the architectural structure of skulls and the soft folds of fur - beautifully capturing textures of the animal form.

Congratulations Lizzie!

Congratulations Jane McNabb

Highly commended

Jane has a special interest in the techniques of raku, pit firing and botanical printing. The unfolding processes between clay, form, heat and fire (including a little magic) result in her one off, unique creations.

Congratulations Anne Ryan!

Highly Commended Award

Anne's reef form draws influences from Deconstructivism, a postmodern style influenced by the philosophical theories of Jacques Derrida characterising fragmented control.

Congratulations Charlie Yin

Highly Commended Award

Charlie creates wheel thrown forms that seek to balance symmetry, texture and craftsmanship. He is drawn to the dialogue between body and clay, valuing the process and its demand for focus and presence.

Congratulations Lynda Jackson

Highly Commended Award

Lynda’s bold use of colour could be attributed to her Chilean/Spanish ancestry. She coil builds most of her pieces which are then painted with underglazes and oxides. Hand building gives her a sense of satisfaction and peace whilst creating - almost like a meditation session.

Congratulations Robbie Kerr

Highly Commended Award

Robbie’s journey with ceramics began at an early age, taught by his father Bernard in their home studio in Glen Forrest.

Drawn to the experimental nature of clay, he explores different styles and techniques. His practice combines a wide range of firing methods including reduction, oxidation, salt firing and wood firing.
