The Intuitive Linen Collection by Suzanne Carter explores the beauty of growth, change and the experiences that shape us.

Created through intuitive layers of acrylic on raw linen, each work features flowing forms, gentle drips and organic movement that respond naturally to the texture of the fabric. No two pieces are ever the same, with each brushstroke unfolding in response to the one before it.

Take a closer look at the world of artist Gary Broley as Art Lovers Australia Gallery Assistant Lucy explores his latest abstract works.

For Gary Broley, painting began as a creative pursuit after retirement and has since evolved into an ongoing exploration of colour, texture and abstraction.

Working primarily with acrylics on canvas and wood, Gary builds his works through layers of paint, scraping, expressive brushwork and experimentation. His abstract compositions encourage viewers to slow down and look a little closer, with new details revealing themselves over time.

Having grown up in the UK, Gary draws inspiration from the vastness and character of the Australian landscape, continuing to develop his practice from his home in Melbourne’s south-east.

Sustainability also plays an important role in Gary’s work. He often incorporates natural materials and reclaimed canvases, allowing traces of previous works to become part of something entirely new.

At the heart of his practice is experimentation, embracing the unexpected, the successes and everything in between.

For Melbourne artist Chris Winer, painting is an exploration of emotion, memory and the passage of time. Whether depicting the human figure or the landscape, Chris looks beyond physical appearance to capture something more elusive — the feelings, memories and experiences that shape how we see the world.
