A tour of the Frank Partridge VC Military Museum takes you on a journey that leads from the trench warfare of WWI to twenty-first century combat technology. Located in the historic town of Bowraville, its collections cover all of Australia's armed services and its displays of armoury, uniforms, medals, vehicles, art, publications and memorabilia are the largest on the Mid North Coast. It is a must-see exhibition that brings visitors up close with those who have served Australia since before the days when Anzac became part of our language.

'The secular celebration of Anzac Day'. Returned soldiers proceed past the Macksville Friendly Societies Hall, on Monday 26/4/1920, to later take part in an Anzac day Memorial Sports Competition. Col. W.W. Spalding marches beside No. 6363 Bernard McNally who carries the Australian National Flag on a very sturdy trimmed sapling. The Macksville Friendly Societies Hall was located on the eastern side of the present day pedestrian crossing and traffic lights, Cooper Street, Macksville.. The building is believed to have been demolished in 1946. (After a study of this photograph the author believes that the man behind the flag centre front of the column, with ribands over his left pocket, is No. 3166 Sgt 'Alick' Mclean, DCM). Anzac Day 1970, Macksville. The colour party were three serving members of the forces. Alan Blanch (Navy), Michael Carter (C.M.F.) and Eric Hare (R.A.A.F.). Macksville Womens Workers, circa 1917-1918. The lady sitting down (side on) at centre front at a sewing machine is believed to be Mrs Ellen Sutton. The lady standing second from the right, close to the door with her head tilted left is Mrs Mary Sherriff, who later married No. 3153 Charles Gross.
