Sunset Sessions
April 11th
from 4pm in our garden space

As co-directors of Suara Dance, Alfira and Murtala are known for their dynamic integration of dance, body percussion, and music - grounded in deep cultural traditions and lived intercultural experience. Originally from Aceh, Murtala is a master of Acehnese sitting song-dances and Rapai Geleng, with decades of experience as a choreographer, educator, and cultural leader. Alfira, of Acehnese-Irish heritage, is a movement artist and founder of Suara Dance, whose work bridges Indonesia and Australia through performance, education, and community connection. Together, their work is driven by storytelling, rhythm, and collective energy. They have toured nationally and internationally, performing across festivals, theatres, remote community, and collaborating with leading artists from Indonesia and Australia.
They’re excited to bring their practice back home and share it with their local community

Huge Thank you and appreciation to Nambucca Heads, Macksville and Valla Lions Clubs and the Australian Lions Foundation for donating a New Mower to us.
This donation will keep our Mowing Crew running, which is a Disbaility Supported Employment Program, that provides employment to 8 staff members of NVP and services 40 Clients lawns within the community. 🤩🚜
