“My practice began as an attempt to discover myself. Over time, it continues to evolve as an inner journey. I am drawn to spiritual and mystical, not as distant ideas but as lived experiences that unfold quietly in everyday life. Looking especially within Sufi traditions, not to illustrate them, but to sit with the questions they open. My work is less about telling stories and more about creating spaces for reflection — where what is hidden or in between can be
felt instead of explained.

Rather than anchoring my practice in fixed symbols or narratives, I approach each piece as a process of reflection— a way to listen, to unearth, and to translate what cannot be spoken. The act of making becomes a way of engaging with questions that shape both my inner world and the reality around me where personal contemplation meets human experiences. In this way, the work remains open, allowing meaning to surface gradually — not as a conclusion, but as ongoing search. Silence, uncertainty and transformations are not themes but a state of being I try to hold within my work.

For this show , I explored the idea of suspension through forms untethered from ground, time, and certainty. Each piece exists in a delicate state between stillness and drift, belonging and isolation. These works dwell in moments that refuse resolution.

Stones, birds, and fragments linger in quiet states of transition, solitude, and becoming.” - Ramsha Haider

“Playing on a contrast between intricate detail and flat patches of colour, between a tumbling together of texture and pattern and pallid faces, my practice consists of works that borrow from ancient and modern family photographs to create compositions that are reminiscent of dreamscapes. My paintings seek to create an otherworldly, almost liminal space - where women interact, reflect, and go about their daily rituals. The skewed compositions and natural elements seek inspiration from Mughal and Persian miniature paintings, while the mystery and privacy of nighttime has been used as the backdrop for these strange scenes based on inward wanderings and experiences of womanhood. Visual elements from memory and dream come together to create a patchwork of imagery and like most dreams, oddities occur - slight instances of glitches in the fabric of the narrative. Strange birds, animals and flora make an appearance, as if magnified and made eccentric by memory. Each work is a nod to some aspect of South Asian femaleness, and elements of love, longing, transformation and introspection remain at the forefront.“ - Khadijah Rehman

We’re so thankful to everybody who attended the opening of “Inward Wanderings”

Inward Wanderings opened on Saturday, June 5, 2026, and will remain up on display until Monday June 15, 2026.

Inward Wanderings explores the relationship between interiority and lived experience through the work of two artists whose practices are rooted in reflection, memory, and personal inquiry. While differing in approach, both artists examine the ways in which private contemplation intersects with broader human experience.

Moving between dream and reality, the seen and the unseen, the exhibition considers introspection as a generative space—one where memory, spirituality, emotion, and imagination shape our understanding of the world. The works resist fixed narratives, instead creating moments of pause that invite viewers into states of reflection and discovery.

Together, these works form a visual landscape of inward exploration, revealing the richness and complexity of experiences that often unfold quietly beneath the surface of everyday life.
