Join the C P Nel Museum this Saturday, 18 July as we honour the legacy of Nelson Mandela.

Enjoy FREE entry to the museum from 09:48 to 11:00.

Take a moment to explore the history and heritage of Oudtshoorn, and spend part of your Mandela Day reflecting on the stories that connect our communities and shape our future.

NOTICE: MUSEUM WILL BE CLOSED ALL DAY ON 16TH OF JUNE AND WILL RESUME ON WEDNESDAY NORMAL HOURS.

The C P Nel Museum partnered with the Department of Social development (DSD ) to celebrate Child Protection Week which was from the 8th of June till the 12th of June. We hosted 97 kids for the week and presented them with Tour guide and educational puppet show by DSD.

We would like to thank the following day care centers which visited us:

Noncedo creché

Also a big thanks to the Department of Social development for partnering with us.

In commemoration of child protection week the C P Nel Museum invites all children to visit the Museum from the 8th of June 2026 till the 12th of June 2026. FREE ENTRY for all children. Caregivers or guardian shall pay the standard fee.
