Curated by Duduzile More and supported by the Austrian Cultural Forum, the Women’s Month group exhibition moves beyond celebration to examine the realities that continue to shape women’s lives.

Featuring Artists:
Jessica Adams in collaboration with Amy Keevy, Lebogang Mabusela, Mummy Khumalo, Rina Noto, Thato Tlatsi, Yolanda Mazwana with video artwork by Nicole Bondi and Bredan Adams

Meet Emma Halford, the artist behind ALL OF HER.

With a background in textile design and years spent working across fashion and interiors, Emma’s practice has always been closely connected to the relationship between the body, material and space. Over time, her exploration of painting, illustration and textiles led her to clay- a medium she now uses as a channel for emotional expression. Her sculptural practice considers how objects can hold feeling, shift the atmosphere of a space, and change the way we experience ourselves within it.

Emma will be bringing this tactile approach into a hands-on workshop at 223 Jan Smuts Creative Hub.

Each guest will begin with a prepared clay female torso, before shaping, carving and personalising it into a sculpture of their own. The finished pieces will then be professionally fired and returned as lasting ceramic works.

No artistic experience is needed -just a willingness to create, explore and tell your story through clay.

Every woman has a story worth celebrating.
This Women’s Month, ALL OF HER invites you into a creative experience where sculpture becomes a way of reflecting on identity, memory and self-expression.

Hosted by sculptor Emma Halford, each guest begins with a beautifully prepared clay female torso before shaping, carving and personalising it into a sculpture that is entirely their own. The finished work is professionally fired and returned as a lasting ceramic keepsake.

No artistic experience is required- just a willingness to create, explore and celebrate your story.

Edition II: 29 August @10:00–13:00

A StrangerKind
A StrangerKind is a community of volunteers who share their lived experiences through intimate conversations. It is an invitation to the public to come, be curious, and ASK them anything about their topic.

How it works
Arrive anytime to see which topics are available (topics are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis). Choose something that sparks your curiosity, sit down with one of our volunteers who will share their life story on that topic, and ASK them ANYthing. You decide how long you want to chat.

This is a free, public event, and everyone is welcome. Still unsure how it works? Just come say hi and meet the team.

Our Conversation Starter Cards will also be available for purchase.
See you there and STAY CURIOUS!
