Since our inception in 2006, the Mazisi Kunene Manuscript Museum in Durban has exponentially grown from a loving family tribute - to a groundbreaking, progressive and innovative crossroads of Dr. Mazisi's sacred handwritten collection of over 10,000 literary works in isiZulu and a headquarters for the broad spectrum of African "Promise Keepers" from throughout the diaspora.

Today we celebrate Mrs. Mathabo Kunene's unconventional, yet highly committed mission to preserve Mazisi Kunene's rich cultural legacy through heritage conservation and empowering community. Sithi Makwande to all the allies who continue to champion this nation-building space!
