This year we’re giving Inktober a little Art Point × South African twist! 🇿🇦

We’ve kept the official prompts but added our own local flavour — because why should Apple just be an apple when it could be a Cape Town apple? 😂

We want YOU to join in!

Draw. Paint. Scribble. Doodle. Get weird. Interpret the prompts however you like.

And keep your eyes peeled 👀 — Gavin Thomson will be creating and hiding artworks around the gallery throughout October.

Can you find them all?

Let’s get inky! 🖤

I’m sure those of you who popped in today noticed that Gavin Thompson was sitting comfortably in the gallery, doing his thing… and by his thing, we mean creating original mini masterpieces right off the bat! ✍🏼

Gavin will be joining us at Noordhoek Art Point throughout the month of October for Inktober, and you’re invited to pop in, take a seat, and watch him bring each day’s prompt to life, one incredible drawing at a time.

But here’s the exciting part… 👀

Once Gavin has completed his artwork for the day, it will be hidden somewhere in the gallery, waiting to be discovered. When you find it, this artwork is yours to keep FREE of charge.

All you have to do is visit the gallery, have a good look around 👀 Make sure to share a photo of your discovery and tag us. We can’t wait to see who finds each masterpiece!

We’re looking forward to seeing what Gavin creates throughout October, and we’d LOVE to see other artists joining in on the Inktober fun too. 🖤

Artists, consider this your invitation. Let’s fill October with creativity, ink and a little bit of magic!

✏️ INKTOBER IS COMING TO ART POINT! 🖤

Join Gavin Thomson and Art Point for Inktober this October!

If you don’t know about Inktober, it’s a fantastic annual drawing challenge that encourages artists to create one ink drawing a day throughout October, following a daily prompt. It’s a great way to get drawing, challenge yourself, try something new and, most importantly, have some fun with your art!

This year, Gavin will be joining us in the gallery every day to work on his Inktober prompt — and we’re taking it one step further…

🇿🇦 We’ve added our own South African twist to the official prompts! 🇿🇦

We’ll reveal our Art Point prompts on Day 1, and we’d love for artists — and aspiring artists — to join us for the challenge.

You can use the original Inktober prompts, our Art Point South African prompts, or mix it up and use both!

Share your drawings, tag Inktober and Noordhoek Art Point, and use:

And we’d LOVE to have some of you join Gavin at the gallery during the month to work on your prompts together. 🎨✏️

Let’s fill October with ink, creativity, a little South African flavour and lots of drawing!
