This is the last weekend to experience Ron Therrio’s exhibition ‘Embodiments.’

Ron Therrio’s work has carried such a presence into our space. His process and hand work is visible in the carved surfaces and textures; striations of wood grain suggest the deep time of geology. His abstract figures evoke other-than-human spirits, talismans, and totems. All prompting reflection on the connections between the disciplined focus of work and the pursuit of enlightenment.

Don’t miss it! Visit us Friday–Sunday, 12–5 each day. Prices available upon request.

Hot Art Summer is in full swing! We’ve launched our annual summer fundraising campaign to help produce Compound’s ninth season of programming (2026–27).

As a nonprofit, we’ve created two ways to support this work:
☀️ The Artists Fund, investing directly in artists and programming.
☀️ The Recurrence Fund, sustaining the day-to-day work that makes it all possible.

By investing in artists, we believe we invest in a more vibrant and connected high desert community.

Thanks to nearly 50 donors and collectors, we raised over $28K last year—keeping our operations running and putting more than $17K directly into artists’ hands.

Join us next week to experience ‘3 out of 70,968,’ the result of this year’s Compact Residency: our every-so-annual experiment with less structured, artist-led summer programming. Returning artist and gallery staff member Kristen Jean Wheatley (Kristen Jean Wheatley) facilitates a collaborative publication and installation with Dogs and Doves and aida lizalde (Aida Lizalde), responding to Lucy Lippard’s 1997 book, ‘Lure of the Local.’

This is the last weekend of Shape Collectors and we will miss this one so much! It’s been such a special integration of three artists’ perspectives and practices — each standing powerfully on her own with so many hidden nods to the others.
