Our Meditation on American Masterpieces program will be held this coming Saturday at 11:30 am. Join Butler Docents for a mindful experience.

This program invites you to slow down, observe, and reflect as you engage with works of art in the gallery. Through guided observation and thoughtful reflection, discover new ways to connect with the artwork.

Whether you’re new to mindfulness or simply looking for a meaningful way to experience art, all are welcome. 🧘‍♀️🎨

The Butler was recently featured in a business journal article about the upcoming Michael Zagaris photography exhibition. This exhibit will run from Sunday, November 1, 2026 until Sunday, April 25, 2027. The Butler will host a free public opening reception from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, November 1 at the museum, 524 Wick Ave. There will also be a private reception for Trustees Circle members from 5 to 6 p.m. on Friday October 30, followed by a Butler members’ reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Zagaris will attend both events. This fall, the Butler is excited to present:
Michael Zagaris: 60 Years of NFL Photography, an extraordinary exhibition spanning more than six decades of one of America’s most iconic sports through the lens of a photographer who was there for it all.

Beginning in 1973, Zagaris became the San Francisco 49ers’ team photographer, giving him unparalleled access to generations of players, coaches, celebrations, rivalries, and unforgettable moments throughout the NFL. His camera was there for the legendary era of Bill Walsh and Joe Montana, as well as the many chapters of 49ers history that followed.

These aren’t simply photographs of football games. They capture the people behind the game — the intensity, personality, camaraderie, anticipation, triumph and emotion that define a team and an era.

Join us at The Butler for the opening and experience Zagaris’s remarkable photographs up close.

✨Sensory Sunday is tomorrow! 💙

Join us tomorrow, Sunday, October 4, from 11 AM–12 PM for a quiet hour at the Butler before the museum opens to the public.

Sensory Sunday takes place on the first Sunday of every month and offers a quieter, less crowded way for people in our neurodivergent community to experience the museum at their own pace.

When you arrive, you can pick up a sensory-friendly bag at our Welcome Desk, just inside the front door, and enjoy the galleries in a welcoming, low-stimulation environment before the museum opens to the public.

We’re grateful to create a space where more people can experience and enjoy art in a way that feels comfortable for them.

Sensory Sunday | First Sunday of every month | 11 AM–12 PM
