Some festivals make you stop for a moment and think, Wow. I’m really going to be part of this.
That’s how I feel about Stockley Gardens. ❤️
This weekend, I’ve been invited to show my paintings at the Stockley Gardens Fall Arts Festival in historic Ghent, Norfolk.
There’s something about this place that gets to me. Maybe it’s the history, the beautiful old trees, the character of the neighborhood, or the way this festival has brought artists and people who love art together for generations. It feels like a place where art belongs. Where it can be discovered, talked about, fallen in love with, and carried home.
I put so much of myself into my paintings. There are hours of work, moments of doubt, unexpected discoveries, and those wonderful times when a piece finally becomes what I hoped it could be. Most of that happens quietly in my studio, long before anyone else sees the finished work.
So getting to bring these paintings somewhere like Stockley Gardens, meet the people who connect with them, and perhaps send one home with someone who will enjoy it for years to come? That’s the part that makes all those hours worthwhile.
I keep thinking about the possibility of someone wandering through the gardens this weekend, seeing a painting of mine, and feeling that little tug of recognition. The feeling that something about it belongs with them. There is nothing ordinary about that to me.
If you’re in Norfolk this weekend, I would truly love to see you. Come wander the gardens, enjoy the artists, and stop by to see what I’ve been creating.
If you’ve been following my work from afar, this would be such a lovely time to meet in person.
Tap the link in my bio to see my paintings and make a plan to visit. I have a feeling this weekend will stay with me long after the gardens are quiet again.
I hope you’ll be part of it. ❤️
