🚧 Hard Hat Tuesday Construction Update 🚧 October 13, 2026.

This post features the new tinted concrete that was recently poured. See the photo of the Fine Arts Gallery. Notice the unique brown color of the concrete. This was the second integrally colored concrete slab poured. The drone video shows a bit more of the beautiful job Okland Construction has done.

Outdoor plans affected by rain? 🌧️ Soggy trails and arena? ☔️ Come to the Museum to ride out the storm. 🐴 Open today, Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mon–Sat 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. All the galleries in the Main Museum are open. Ask at the main desk about our Cultural Crossroads Learning Center. Visit westernmuseum.org to plan your visit.

Kids 17 and under are free. Members are always free. Other discounts available.

🚨 Just in time for spooky season 👻, the Sigler Western Museum invites you to join Phoenix Arizona Paranormal Society to explore the unexplained with “Paranormal on Film” on 🎃 Saturday, Oct. 24, from 4 - 6 p.m. in the Cultural Crossroads Learning Center. Cost is included with *paid Museum admission* so come early to enjoy the Main Museum on Frontier St. before you head to the presentation. Main Museum will close at 5 p.m. Children 17 and under are free. Museum members and active duty U.S. military with a guest are also free. 👀

🚨 Presented by the Phoenix Arizona Paranormal Society (PAPS), this intriguing program will offer a look at paranormal investigations throughout Arizona. PAPS will share their experiences and present compelling video and audio evidence gathered during investigations as they discuss how they distinguish between occurrences that may have logical explanations and those that remain unexplained.

🚨 Following the presentation, PAPS will demonstrate the use of paranormal investigation equipment, giving guests a closer look at the modern tools and techniques used to document unusual activity.

🚧 Hard Hat Tuesday Construction Update 🚧 October 6, 2026

More progress is taking shape at the new Sigler Western Art Museum & Pavilion! With the structural steel now in place, crews are installing the exterior siding underlayment. This important layer will help protect the building from moisture while also contributing to the structure’s fire-resistant exterior system.

We’re also preparing for another major milestone: pouring the concrete floors. With the building’s framework established, the focus is increasingly shifting toward creating the interior spaces.

Up above, installation of the roof underlayment panels is also nearing completion. The finished roof is still to come, but each new layer brings us another step closer!

🚧 Hard Hat Tuesday 🚧 Rainy Days Edition:

Despite being rained out the last two days, progress continues at the Sigler Western Museum’s new Museum and Pavilion. We’re now approximately *95% complete with the structural steel installation*. You can also see roofing panels covering most of the building now.

Barring any additional weather delays, the team is scheduled to pour concreted of the slab-on-grade next week. This should include the Pavilion floor. We’re excited to keep moving this project forward! Enjoy these photos taken by our Super Volunteer, June White. You can see the clouds building from last week as the monsoons intensified drop large amounts of Rain This Monday and Tuesday.

1. The Museum is closed today, Sept. 28. This is the last Monday we will be closed as we go back to "Regular Hours". We will be open Mondays from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Starting Oct. 5 until June 2027. Plan your visit at westernmuseum.org.

2. The Cultural Crossroads Learning Center (CCLC) will be closed ALL day Tomorrow, Tues. Sept. 29 so we can take down the "West of Center" exhibition and sale. Thank you all for a wonderful show.

3. The Main Museum will be open tomorrow. Come see the art of Robert “Shoofly” Shufelt, Fritz Scholder, Patsy Skyline Lowry and more!

4. Free Family Friday is this week, Friday Oct. 2 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. in the CCLC. See the photo of the activity in the comments!

Our unofficial mascot, “Snuggie,” 🐴 stopped by to say hello to Kathy and Kat on a beautiful Friday! Kathy is one of our awesome Visitor Services Associates, and Kat is a dedicated, longtime Museum volunteer. Together, they’re among the friendly faces who welcome our guests and help make every visit memorable while sharing the stories behind our historic collections and exhibitions. 🙂

🎨 On display now, in the exhibition "Our Western Legacy: Treasures from the Permanent Collection", is the personal trunk and artwork of the artist Eda Sterchi (1885-1969). This recent donation to the museum contains several of her paintings and drawings that range from portraits to scenes of Northern Africa, to studies of the Arizona desert.

Visit westernmuseum.org to plan your visit. We are open Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Closed Monday Sept. 28. Open Mondays starting in October as we get back to our regular hours.

Admission is free for children 17 and under, active U.S. military with a guest and, always free for Museum members. Senior and AAA discounts are available. Sign up to become a member on our website!

🚧 Hard Hat Tuesday New Art Museum and Pavilion Update 🚧

Today, we want to take a moment to once again thank our community for the incredible show of support in signing the “last beam” of the new Sigler Western Art Museum & Pavilion—and for joining us to witness this momentous milestone.

Enjoy this video of the beam’s actual installation, which took place last Thursday, Sept. 17!

This special beam bears the signatures of our community, its leaders, Museum donors, patrons, volunteers and supporters. It now sits firmly in place on the back side of the Art Pavilion, becoming a permanent part of the building and a lasting reminder of the community that helped make this project possible.
