Reminder: ✅ On Saturday, Aug. 22, from 1 to 3 p.m., Wickenburg artist Gina Beck will demonstrate acrylic painting and experimental mixed-media techniques. Beck will explore creative layering and other approaches that encourage artists to break through creative blocks, experiment with new ideas and discover unexpected possibilities in their work.

An Arizona native, Beck draws inspiration from the colorful people, animals and landscapes of the West. Her paintings feature horses, rodeo scenes, desert landscapes and wildlife brought to life through swirling colors and a slightly whimsical style.

Beck began her professional art career 37 years ago with tole and decorative painting and has been teaching, creating and painting ever since. She earned an associate degree in fine art from Northland Pioneer College before continuing her education with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in fine art. During her time in Las Vegas, she designed and painted clothing for the Tropicana, Hilton and other shops.

Today, Beck owns a shop and gallery in Wickenburg where she displays her paintings, painted furniture and three-dimensional creations.

The Aug. 22 demonstration is free and open to the public at the Sigler Western Museum’s Cultural Crossroads Learning Center.

2026 Louise Carty Memorial Scholarship Recipients Announced

We're excited to announce two accomplished high school students and artists, Sara Gangl and Sloane Reynolds, as the 2026 recipients of the WAC’s Louise Carty Memorial Scholarship.

Donna Drake, WAC College Scholarship Chairperson, stated, “Last fall the Wickenburg Art Club increased its scholarship from $1,000 to $2,000. This increase allows us to support two outstanding students this year by awarding each of them $1,000 to further their education in an art related field.”

A fun time yesterday at our end of season potluck! We celebrated being “Business of the Month”, our volunteer contributions especially Cheryl Hoyer our outgoing webmaster, our scholarship recipients, and another year getting better for artists and our community.
