Hartland Historical Society Membership Meeting
Friday, May 19 at 7:00 PM
Town Hall, 22 South Road, East Hartland
Guest Speaker - Hubert Parmelee
There will be a short HHS Membership meeting followed by:

Tales and Fables!

Hubert (Hubie) Parmelee, a life long resident and descendant of the town's first permanent settler, will be our guest speaker. Come hear Hartland Historical memories and antidotes. Everyone is welcome!

Light refreshments will be served. This is a FREE event.

We need help at the museum this Friday and Saturday.
April 21&22. House cleaning and other misc. jobs.

10am-12pm and back after lunch 1pm-4pm

Hartland Historical Society is collaborating with Hartland Land Trust for its 10th Anniversary Celebration.

Presentation by author Marty Podskoch about Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) Camps in the 1930’s. (Sponsored by HLT)

Artifacts and slide show of CCC Camp Robinson that was located in the Wilderness School area and across the street. (Compliments of HHS)

Celebrate Land Trust 10th Anniversary with cake and refreshments

HHS Membership Meeting

Hike Wilderness School property with Tom Dyer (.5 to 1 mile/easy)

The HHS annual Blueberry Picnic is this coming Sunday, August 14, 1-4pm. Come hear the blueberry songs, stories and Hartland student school poems/lyrics from 1930-1940's. Poems/lyrics will be read by past and present Hartland School students. Hamburgers and hot dogs for sale. Blueberry dessert - no cost - bring one to share but not required. Museum open too.

If it rains it will be held at the Town Library.

The first Sunday of the month is coming up! The Gaylord House museum will be open Sunday July 3rd from 2 to 4 p.m. Come see the Hartland Elementary kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade school project. We also have some newly donated collection artifacts.

This coming Sunday - June 12th - is the members only house tour being held from 2 - 4pm at Joan Stoltze's historic home at 536 Granville Road in East Hartland. Not a member? No problem. Member dues will be accepted at the door. Refreshments will be served and HHS items will be available for purchase.

Upcoming events in June...

June 6 - Hartland School first, second and third graders visit the Gaylord House Museum.

June 12 - Members only house tour being held at Joan Stotlze's historical home in East Hartland, 2 - 4pm with refreshments. Member dues accepted at the door. Hartland Historical Society items will be available for purchase.

Hartland Historical Society will be represented in the annual Memorial Day parade on May 30th. Starts at the elementary school in East Hartland at 9:30 am. Come join the fun!
