A Little Reminder About Keeping Winsted Clean!
We are proud and happy to participate in a Town of Wi******er initiative that provides us with a public trash receptacle to help keep our streets and community clean. The American Museum of Tort Law maintains the receptacle, and we’re glad to do our part to make downtown Winsted a cleaner and more welcoming place.
Unfortunately, we recently discovered that someone parked in the Museum parking lot during business hours, removed several large bags of personal household garbage from their vehicle, and placed them in this pedestrian sidewalk trash bin.
Our staff should not have to handle and dispose of someone else’s household garbage. Large bags of personal trash quickly fill the receptacle, can be messy and unpleasant to handle, and prevent the bin from serving its intended purpose, keeping litter off our sidewalks and streets.
We do have security cameras, but we are not interested in naming or embarrassing anyone. We are simply asking for some consideration for the Museum staff members who maintain this receptacle and for the community initiative it represents.
Let’s all do our part to keep Winsted clean!
