The Cape Cod Model Railroad Club & Museum is devastated to learn of the passing of one of our most steadfast and supportive members, Dr. Mike Coppe. Dr. Coppe was a humanist, a historian, a teacher and a mentor and made many friends at the club with his approachability and compassion.

Most recently Dr. Mike donated a 16' x 9' O Gauge Module carefully modelling the Polar Express and helped the club to renovate it so we can display it to the public for this Christmas.

Dr. Mike was a man for all seasons. Kind, knowledgable, tolerant and dedicated, he would willingly invest his knowledge and time into anyone who was prepared to make an effort. Similarly, he had little time or energy to spend on the lazy, the entitled or anyone who didn't tackle any task with appropriate vigor. "If it's worth doing, it's worth doing right" he would say and Lord knows he wasn't wrong there!

Godspeed Dr. Mike. We will remember how you saved an amazing work of art created by the Albemarle Railroad Club and brought it at great time and expense to Cape Cod where our club could take the time to renovate an amazing layout. We will not soon forget your generosity, curiosity and dedication as they serve as a shining beacon for how to make a life truly well-spent.
