Terry Redlin's interest in out-of-doors themes can be traced to his childhood in Watertown, South Dakota. Few artists can rival the standards of excellence achieved by Master Artist Terry Redlin over the past 30 years. He is truly one of the country's most widely collected painters of wildlife and Americana.

Terry Redlin paid tribute to his brother-in-law, Charles Langenfeld, and all fallen heros with his series "An American Portrait". This heartfelt collection of seven original paintings is on permanent display at the Redlin Art Center in Watertown, South Dakota. https://redlinart.com/an-american-portrait/

It's April 3rd and Watertown, South Dakota has snow on the ground - and more in the forecast. It immediately made me think of Terry Redlin's painting, "April Snow". Here it is!

April Snow was painted and published by Terry Redlin in 1981. Here was his inspiration:

The area around this old wood pile bridge and scenic hill country was explored by the artist on a field trip one April morning. A late season snow had just fallen and as he walked not only wood ducks, but also mallards, teal and geese were flushed from their resting places. In a special sense, the artist felt the woods on this bright morning had “come alive”.

Terry Redlin's Unfinished Art Exhibit is now open! The Studio Collection features over 50 pieces of original art started by Terry Redlin but never finished. This vast collection was discovered in the artist's home studio and has been archived by the Redlin Art Center since his passing in April 2016. After 10 years, the Redlin Art Center and the Redlin family have decided to share the sketches and paintings Terry Redlin was never able to finish. The Studio Collection will remain on permanent display. Admission is free.

Four of these paintings were so close to completion, Terry had given them working titles: Sunrise, Sunset, After the Storm, and Early Morning Frost. Terry's son, Charles, published them as unfinished, unsigned prints so that they would be available as one final addition to the vast collection of Terry Redlin's art. Here's a glimse of "After the Storm".

S.D. Game, Fish and Parks will be stocking the ponds at the Redlin Art Center later today with 600 Rainbow Trout! We are truly grateful for our partnership with SDGFP and their ongoing programming to encourage youth fishing! No license needed! Terry Redlin would LOVE to know that kiddos and their families are fishing the ponds within Terry Redlin Conservation Park! Fishing was one of his favorite childhood pastimes and the inspiration for the image featured, "Spring Fishing"! Thank you, SDGFP!
