Last night, 80 people joined the Codington County Historical Society Board of Directors to hear a reading of the Declaration of Independence exactly 250 years after its first public reading.

Together, we celebrated learning how to pronounce words like usurpations, consanguinity, and magnanimity—and, more importantly, we celebrated the remarkable document that gave birth to the nation we call home.
