Picture of one of Mrs. Annie Keyser's sixth grade classes. The photo was featured in the May 13, 1982 edition of the "Rappahannock News." The names of the children are given. Mrs. Judy Hawkins Codding is third from the left, front row. Teacher Anna Keyser was born Annie Eastham Slaughter on September 1903 to Albert and Virginia Daniel Slaughter. She was married to Aubrey Hubert Keyser. She began her teaching career in 1919 when she was sixteen. According to an article written in the paper on the occasion of her retirement in 1971, she received her education at Washington School, being in the first grade the first year it opened. She and Arthur Miller were the only ones of her class to graduate High School there. She stated in the article that her first teaching position was at Battle Run School near Washington. The school closed after that one year, and she began teaching at the Washington School. Mrs. Keyser died in 1991. She and her husband are buried at the Daniel Family Cemetery on Fodderstack RD.

Letter award for the girl's basketball team at Sperryville High School. This was given to Louise Schaefer for her participation in the sport in the 1932-1933, 1933-1934, 1934-1935, and 1936-1937 seasons. Miss Schaefer was born in 1919 to Christian and Nancy Clarke Schaefer. She marred Bernard Marshall Varner. The basketball team coach was Mary Miller Quaintance and the principal at the school was H. B. Winfrey. This item was given to the Society by Miss Schaefer's sister-in-law Mary Edna Johnson Schaefer in 1995.
