Meet Clover Jean! 🫐

Clover is a 14-pound long-haired mini Dachshund with a lot to say.

"I live with my little brother Ozzy and my wise old brother Finnley. I’m an outdoor enthusiast who loves fishing, squirrel patrol, gopher excavation, side-by-side adventures, deep snow zoomies, and yelling my feelings from the rooftops. If it involves dirt, water, wildlife, or snacks, I’m in."

Clover's favorite toy is her little brother, Ozzy. He’s fluffy, squeaky, and never seems to wear out. They wrestle, chase each other, and she lovingly chews on him every single day. Her favorite treat is sweet potato wrapped in chicken. She politely ignores almost everything else. She thinks the best thing about being a dog is fishing with her mom and dad! Bass boats or fly fishing, swimming after fish, helping unhook them, and escorting them to the river. She takes her Fish & Wildlife duties very seriously. (Please don't ask her parents about the "Hook Incident of 2025". They still aren't over it.)

Clover's opinion on cats, "It’s… complicated. I had a cat roommate as a puppy and we were besties. Every cat since then has made me think, 'We should either become best friends or settle this once and for all.' So far they’ve all chosen to run away. One even left a claw stuck in my nose. Rude."

Clover may be tiny, but she firmly believes she's responsible for protecting the entire forest from squirrels, chipmunks, suspicious leaves, and unauthorized cats. She is friendly with people and dogs, absolutely adores licking her grandma’s toes (don’t judge), and she's inherited every dachshund instinct available. Her family says she's a quirky little neurotic. She prefers the term “highly committed to my job.”

Vote for Clover by visiting www.wallacehuckfest.com. Your monetary donation is greatly appreciated and is how we tally the votes. ALL donations given directly to the Shoshone Pet Rescue to help with their costs to foster, feed, and love on rescued pets looking for their forever homes.

This year, our winner will receive a special prize from our sponsor, Miso's Market. Be sure to visit their booth this year at the festival.

Good luck, Clover Jean!

Say hello to Penny! She's a 2 & 1/2 year old Golden Retriever! 🫐

Penny loves everything and everyone. She's a retriever who sure does love to retrieve things such as socks, toys, napkins, and small birds. Don't worry, she has a soft mouth. They are ok. She just brings them to you. Penny loves walks, and recently found that swimming is not bad. She enjoys that much more with her siblings, both human and dog.

Penny's favorite toy is a stuffed duck and she LOVES beef liver treats.

Penny thinks cats are "potentially chaseable friends" and she says the best thing about being a dog is, "Getting to go on a beach vacation and not pay any expenses."
