It’s incredibly important to pass on historic restoration and preservation skills to the next generation of preservationists. It’s been such an honor to work alongside Intern, Camren Champion, this summer. Camren has assisted with roof patching, structure stabilization, traditional daubing and chinking, and much more.

Evolving from European folk dances and brought to the Southern Appalachian Mountains by 17th and 18th century immigrants, square dancing remains an active living tradition that we are honored to carry forward. Our next community square dance is one week from today. Join us on Tuesday, August 25th at 6pm to experience this longstanding tradition for yourself!
