Desert Artisans' Gallery represents over 50 local Tucson artists with price points for every budget

Established in 1987, Desert Artisans’ Gallery is a fine art gallery located in Tucson, Arizona. It is owned and operated by local artists from southern Arizona. The gallery features contemporary works in oil, acrylic, photography, jewelry, watercolor, wood, ceramics, glass, and more with over 60 artists represented.

I have to say, this had been one of my favorite shows we’ve had. Bright colors perfect for welcoming summer while staying in the nice cool gallery! Here’s just one piece we’ll have on display, a stunning water color done by Susan Myers.

Layers of color, texture, and intention come together so beautifully in this extraordinary collage by artist Liz Halstead. Thoughtfully created from every last drop of saved paint, Liz transforms what could have been waste into something deeply meaningful by embellishing and hand-stitching each piece together by hand. Her process is not only incredibly mindful, but also remarkably labor intensive, making works like this true labors of love.

The physicality and care required to create these stitched compositions is immense, which makes this one of Liz’s final pieces in this style; a rare opportunity to experience the dedication, artistry, and craftsmanship that went into every detail.

This is also the final week to view our Winter Show at Desert Artisans’ Gallery, so if there’s a piece you’ve been thinking about, now is the perfect time to come by.
