Come tour Christian County’s first courthouse where Abraham Lincoln walked and where he argued cases with Stephen A. Douglas, walk through the Woodall Building which includes the jail and showcases military memorabilia including uniforms, weapons, a Civil War diary and other artifacts. Tour the Log House built in the 1830’s, the Bee Castle which is thought to be the only one of its kind in the sta

UPDATE: We now have 10 seats open!🙂

Stacie Shanks will be lending her talents of flower arranging & Swag decor on our Evergreen Swag evening at the museum. We only have 15 seats open. You may call 217-824-6922, message us on Facebook, or email to reserve your seat.
If you register by phone, email, and/or messenger, please send the payment by October 1st. You can send a check to: CCHS, PO Box 254, Taylorville, IL 62568, note that it is for the Swag Party. You can also go to the website and pay through PAYPAL. The PAYPAL link is in the comments. Thank you in advance!!

The Christian County Historical Society & Museum has been extremely fortunate in hosting the Taylorville Municipal Band for the last few years. We have enjoyed the old-fashioned community get-together to hear the skilled musicians from our area play a variety of music. Thank YOU all for coming out and supporting the Municipal Band and the Historical Society!! We hope to see you all next year!!!
