Did you know the museum is EXPANDING?! ⭐️

A huge thank you to our volunteers who helped move the contents of the now closed Moweaqua Coal Mine Museum to our museum in Taylorville today!

Andy Lovekamp, Bryce Lovekamp, Gary Garrison, Terry White, Brian Hawkins, John Williams, Jimmy Crisp and Chuck Martin went above and beyond to have a smooth and safe transfer of all the museum artifacts from Moweaqua. They did a fantastic job!

Also, thank you to Kevin Peabody for the use of his trailer and Steve Craggs for the loan of some dollies.

Work now begins putting together displays in the newly remodeled section of the Coal Mine Museum in Taylorville. If you wish to volunteer to help with the next phase of this project contact our Executive Director, Chuck Martin at 217 526 4408.
