Knight Foundry, set in the heart of Sutter Creek, is America’s last water-powered foundry and machine shop. Established in 1873 by Samuel Knight, this extraordinary facility includes the unique historic equipment and machinery, still in place in its original context, just as it was during its gold rush-era heyday. Knight Foundry is nationally recognized as a National Historic Mechanical Engineering Landmark and a California Registered Historical Landmark. The Foundry is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and was once named by the National Trust for Historic Preservation as one of America’s eleven most endangered historic places.

A little bit of everything! From the roar of the forge and the glow of molten metal to hands-on workshops, historic tours and opportunities to experience one of California’s most unique industrial treasures.

A night to remember at the Foundry ✨ Feast at the Foundry was more than an evening of delicious food, laughter and community…it was a celebration of the people who continue to believe in the mission of preserving Historic Knight Foundry.

To our incredible volunteers who gave their time and talents, our generous sponsors who helped make the evening possible and every guest who joined us for a special night inside this historic space, thank you. Your support allows us to continue sharing the stories, craftsmanship and legacy of one of California’s most unique historic sites.

From the conversations shared around the tables to the sounds of community gathering inside the Foundry walls, the evening was a beautiful reminder that history is not only preserved through buildings and artifacts, it is preserved through the people who show up to support it.

There’s still time to check one more thing off your 2026 bucket list. Join us at Knight Foundry for our final class of the season! The Green Sand Molding & Foundry Practice Workshop on October 17.

This hands-on experience gives you the chance to step inside the foundry, learn the fundamentals of green sand molding, work alongside experienced instructors and see the casting process come to life from start to finish.
It’s the kind of day that leaves you with a new skill, a good story and the satisfaction of saying, “I actually did that.”

SOLD OUT! 🎉⚒️ Feast at the Foundry is officially sold out and we are incredibly grateful. Thank you to every person who purchased a ticket, shared the event, supported Knight Foundry, donated, sponsored, volunteered and helped make this evening possible. Your support means so much to the Knight Foundry Alliance and to the continued preservation of this historic place.
Tomorrow night, we gather under the stars for the 9th Annual Feast at the Foundry and we cannot wait to celebrate with all of you.
