Did you know that we’re sponsoring a fundraiser on May 30th?

We are helping to restore one of the local historic buildings connected to the Bunker Hill Mine.

There will be food, wine, music, and a chance to learn from some of our local historians.

What can be better than that?

Join us and help keep our local stories alive.

Did you know that Gold Rush towns like Amador City would hide small gold nuggets instead of Easter eggs for the kids to find on Easter?

No? Well, that’s good, because we’re just late to the April Fool’s game.

But what is definitely true is that you’ll find plenty of ‘nuggets’ of fascinating truths at the museum.

Don’t forget to visit us on your next stop in Amador County.

We’re open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 11 to 3 PM.

We kind of feel like international women’s day is our day. Maybe that’s because for us every day is women’s day. Visit us and learn about the magnificent roles that women played in our California history that you may have not learned about in the history books. Especially this one!

Did you know that the Musuem building once shipped out the gold bullion found in neighboring mines?

Anyone else want to climb under the building and look what it fell through the floorboards now? Lol.

Still looking for something to do with the kids Christmas break?

How about something different from the norm? Step back into gold rush history and let us show your kiddos what school was like pre-handheld devices.

Then let them leave their marks on history…just like our visitors this last week.

Also, reminder that the museum will be closed in January. So make sure to stay on Santa‘s good list and get your kids out and expand their horizons.

Or at least have the opportunity to explain what a blackboard was.

And sometimes the best way to see something beautiful is to look right outside your front door. Tonight the history of the Gold Rush is all around us.

Stop by the museum, wander through our exhibits, and then step outside to see the view they might have seen.
