Our House About It exhibit is one of our visitor's favorites! This winter, our outdoor explorers had the chance to check out the exhibit updates and learn all about the people that build houses and communities, including architects and construction workers.

When you visit us soon, try knocking over the bricks with the wrecking ball, use the tool bench, and ride up & down on the big “level,” which is actually a see-saw! Our newest components are a crane and conveyor belt which encourage teamwork and a slide down from the top floor of the framed out building

This will give all museum visitors the opportunity to see Sasha's native habitat without leaving Staten Island- we can't wait for you to see it in person soon! 🐢 #sichildrensmuseum #animalupdate #tortoiseexhibit #reopening

In honor of #WomensHistoryMonth we want to talk about Maria Sibylla Merian, a 17th century entomologist and illustrator who traveled studying insects and spiders in their natural habitat. Among her works, she documented the pink toe tarantula eating a bird. At the time, other entomologists criticized her saying a bird eating spider was not possible- but the pink toe tarantula has indeed been known to eat the occasional small bird! Here at the museum our pink toed tarantula eats crickets, check it out! #animalupdate #pinktoedtarantula #athomewithsicm #sichildrensmuseum

Dear Staten Island Residents, If a member of your family is involved with the drugs, you need to be educated on how to handle it. Please attend to Samaritan Daytop family associations meetings. The meetings take place every Monday at 7:00 PM till 8:30 PM. I’m a member of Samaritan Daytop association for 25 years. It taught me how to cope with tragic ordeals as this. Thank god I’m still alive, a lot of people couldn’t handle the tragedy of drugs, they lost everything they owned and died. Thanks to Samaritan Daytop, I’m still alive. You cannot depend on the system, especially if you are a divorced family. The Administration for Children's Services, they promote the children to go through family court, then family court promotes the children to go to criminal court, then the criminal court promotes the children to go to federal court. And from federal court, if they’re lucky they’ll go to jail or if they’re unlucky they will end up in the cemetery. I’m sick and tired of having to go to the wakes of the young American children; I don’t want to see them at the funeral. I want to go to their sweet 16 parties, birthdays or their wedding celebrations. Please, American parents, don’t take this lightly, try to save your children while they’re young before it is too late. I don’t wish this tragedy to my worst enemy. I throw most of the responsibilities to the mother’s because women build homes, cities, and towns, and the bravest ladies build nations. In my experience inside the court system, a $35 dollars parking ticket has more value than an innocent, pure life of a child. This is what I went through; please be brave enough to join the Daytop association. You’ll be healed physically and mentally, and you will be able to handle this tragic ordeal at the same time helping your child to straighten his/her life. No one is born as a drug addict; the ignorant system makes the crimes. All children are born pure and innocent but is polluted by today’s dirty society. We as a public as a whole, are failures and conspirators of this crime, because all of us has knowledge of what’s going on with the drugs and we look the other way. As Einstein says, “the world will not be destroyed by those who do evil, but by those who watch them without doing anything”. 80% of the criminals inside the jail system, are due to drugs. All the lawmakers and legislators, they know well about the root of the crime, and they don’t want to destroy it. At the same time, we all promote the new born pure, innocent, holy infants to go through the same path. Don’t forget all these drug addicts, they were once born as a holy, pure, innocent infant, and we promote them to destroy their lives and to destroy other lives. “It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men.” -Frederick Douglass. “We now live in a nation where doctors destroy health, lawyers destroy justice, universities destroy knowledge, governments destroy freedom, the press destroys information, religion destroys morals, and our banks destroy the economy.” – Chris Hedges Please don’t depend on private schools. Don’t feel comfortable and not to have peace of mind that there are no drugs in private schools. My son attended the best private schools even New York Military Academy, and he was one of the biggest drug dealers inside the schools. Children with school uniforms are the ones who bring the drugs inside the schools. The master drug dealers are very smart. Usually, they chose one of the most popular, strongest, bravest and smartest children from each school to promote and sell. This way they can promote and encourage their filthy poisoned drugs, poisoning the society. Thank you very much, Steven Stavros Sitaras For more information, feel free to contact me: 347-552-4187 [email protected] (Please do not text, I don’t know how to reply or open it, Thank you.)
