🚨 COMING SOON to The Townhouse Gallery: Intergalactic Beets Records

Artist Bio: Joey Rodriguez lives in Connecticut with his wife and two children, where he works as a nonprofit consultant. In 2021, inspired by the possibilities of the universe, he created the hybrid art and music adventure: The Intergalactic Beets Project. Drawing on his musical background in guitar, drums, and keyboard, his work is constantly evolving and now encompasses over 285 original songs. He is also the author of four novels, two novellas, and a dozen published short stories.

The Intergalactic Beets Project (IBP) is a fictional record label tasked with rescuing music from across the Universe after the intergalactic ban imposed by the evil Lord Prosect in the year 5,000. It now comprises close to 300 songs from over 200 “alien” artists. The Intergalactic Beets Project comes to life with an art + music exhibition that is out of this world! Join us for Intergalactic Beets Records, an interactive, intergalactic record store, complete with art, music, merch, vinyl, cassettes, videogames, prizes, musical artifacts, and more!

🚨 COMING SOON to The Townhouse...

TECHNICOLOR DAYDREAM
Barrett Jones
June 1 - June 30
The Townhouse Gallery
Reception: Thursday, June 4, 5-8 PM

Artist Bio: Barrett Jones is a Norwalk artist who uses the medium of acrylic paint to create dreamscapes of colors and patterns. In addition to painting, Barrett is also a poet and musician. His poetry has been published in Viper’s Tongue International Poetry and Prose Journal. His band Fantastic Purple Spots can be heard on all major music streaming platforms.

Artist Statement: I paint to escape the straight lines of the chain store parking lots, the endless scroll of the soul sapping smartphones, the expensive emptiness of the desirable neighborhoods and the peeling paint of the public housing hallways. I paint to escape the boredom of the line at the pharmacy and the wait at the bus stop and the half hour lunch break. I paint to escape the AI slop bubbling out of data centers built on meadows where birds once sang and flowers once bloomed. I paint the precious seconds of a rainbow’s lifetime, the morning sunbeam shining through a dew drop hanging on a spider’s web, the diamond sparkle of a carpet of snow crystals catching the light of a full moon. I paint my TECHNICOLOR DAYDREAM.

Did you know? Each spring, horseshoe crabs return to CT’s coastal beaches to spawn, part of a shoreline ritual that dates back hundreds of millions of years! Let Stamford’s beaches, tides, marshes, marine life, and waterfront histories inspire your submission to SAA’s annual marine-themed call for art.

Tonight's the Night! BEE there or beeeee square!

BEE-YOND THE FRAME 🖼🐝 CLOSING RECEPTION: Thursday, May 14th || 5:30-7 PM at The Townhouse Gallery (39 Franklin Street)

For one week only, experience Devlin’s multimedia showcase featuring both large- and small-scale works in fiber, sculpture, collage, painting, charcoal, photography, and NFT.

BEE-YOND THE FRAME marks a bold and playful departure from Devlin’s traditional painting and portrait photography, inviting viewers into an immersive exploration of the world of bees and the renewal of spring. Through richly textured materials and unexpected combinations of mediums, Devlin blurs the boundaries between fine art and storytelling—transforming the gallery into a hive of imagination, symbolism, and sensory delight.

At once lighthearted and layered, the collection personifies bees and everyday objects, offering viewers a chance to reflect on community, productivity, sweetness, and the delicate balance between structure and freedom. Each piece hums with narrative, encouraging guests to look a little closer—and perhaps see themselves within the swarm.

The exhibition also reflects Devlin’s continued evolution into figurative and conceptual work, building on her reputation for visually engaging storytelling while expanding into new dimensional and experimental territory.

In celebration of Mother’s Day, all mothers attending the reception will receive a complimentary gift, along with a free digital portrait session (solo or family, single backdrop) captured onsite by the artist. Final images will be delivered via email within 72 hours following the event. 🐝

Whether you are a collector, a curious observer, or simply someone who enjoys a little sweetness with their art, BEE-YOND THE FRAME promises a joyful and memorable experience that lingers long after you leave the gallery.
