Lighting the Sound by Kari Kola
The largest light installation on Earth to date.

Created in Albany, Western Australia, the project has been recognized as the largest light installation on Earth to date.

Spanning coastline, sky, and landscape, the artist transformed place into experience — not simply through light, but through scale, memory, and cultural meaning.

Kari’s work does not just illuminate.
It reveals what a landscape already carries.

Now, a new vision is beginning to take shape.

More soon.

“Light is a really powerful tool.”
— Kari Kola

For over two decades, Kari Kola has worked with light across historic sites, natural environments, and large-scale public experiences, transforming landscapes into moments of stillness, reflection, and awe.

Now, a new monumental act of light is beginning to take shape.

Before it can be seen, it has to be believed in.

More soon.
Follow the light.

How do we define light in painting?

In Between Light and Density, the canvas becomes a field of gradations where perception is shaped by material density and atmospheric tension. This show is a collective exploration of how light is simultaneously revealed and contained through diverse painterly languages.

From the internal glow in Jena Thomas’s work to the visual resistance and compressed light in Samuel Messer’s paintings, we invite you to explore the mechanics of vision.

Between Light and Density is now live on Artsy!

Rather than following a fixed narrative, the exhibition unfolds through subtle transitions of tonal intensity and material density, where surfaces oscillate between transparency and saturation.

Born in Chile, Carlos B Biernnay lived through the Pinochet dictatorship, a period that profoundly shaped both his life and his artistic vision. Raised by four women, he learned to sew and embroider—a legacy that defines his contemporary practice today. For him, creating is not merely an aesthetic choice, but an act of survival, of remembrance, and a tribute to the family lineage that provided him with his technical foundation.

His installation, Chaos, explores these layers of history, intertwining personal experience with collective memory. As Biernnay notes in this report, the work invites viewers to “enter his mind” and navigate the atmosphere of his psyche.
