Every year the Congressional Art Competition reminds me just how much talent we have right here in Southern Illinois. This year's winner is Jianna Westerfield from Goreville High School, whose alcohol marker and colored pencil piece titled "Resting in Radiance" stood out from an impressive field. Her work will hang in the halls of the U.S. Capitol for the next year for all to see. Thank you to every student who entered this year’s competition and to the teachers that encourage them.
