Pecora's MicaMineSchoolhouse Tours
is a New England based Mines and Mining Historian, Educator, and History Educator for learners of all ages 5 to 85+...
You are guaranteed to learn something new with him as your mineral adventure tour guide! Most all tours include Museum show, touch and tell.
Pecora offers Mineral Adventure Tours throughout New England all year long, here is how they work.
There is "No Set Schedule" for any tours. Tours come about when someone or some group hires the Mica Mine Schoolhouse for the day! Daily rate is a minimum of $250, some tours are $350, tips of grattitude or food are always welcome and appreciated.
[P.S. If your group is small, then Jim will open the tour to the public to fill the slots.]
The smaller the group, the greater the number of places you can go. 1-8 persons is ideal, in a max of three cars including Jims. For larger groups such as homeschoolers the tour places are limited due to parking restrictions. Some schools provide the transportation and Jim rides along.
NOTE: Pecora does not live in the Mining District of SW NH. So he has travel expenses as well as overnight accomidations for most tours. This is a labor of love, not some huge money making enterprise.
The Mica Mine Schoolhouse also conducts in school programs K-12 and beyond. Many of these can be subsidized. So make your inquiry.
Pecora also provides full length Educational Lectures throughout the Northeast on Dozens of Mineral related topics. As well as short presentations 20-30 min on all sorts of little known History. And he has created many 5min "Lightning talks."
Lastly, Pecora offers guided educational talks at his two Museums and . These can be combined with tours.
