Pumpkin Time! 🎃

Every year I debut pumpkins at the Sidewalk Arts Festival in Sioux Falls, SD! It's a beautiful one day festival and only a mile from my house.

I really resisted making seasonal items for a long time and still don't make a lot but pumpkins and little gnome ornaments bring me so much joy and I hope you love them too!

I am terrible at putting pots for sale on my website. Let me know if you aren't local a need a pumpkin, I will add some for y'all!

Sonja Gloria Pottery

Welcome to my page!

Sonja Hernandez grew up in Western North Carolina, steeped in the crafting traditions of the Southern Appalachians. She would often accompany her grandmother, an avid crafter, to the studios of artist friends, where Sonja would watch them work, enraptured.

During high school, she sat at a potter’s wheel for the first time and was instantly hooked, deciding that if she must grow up and get a job she would be a potter. She later earned a Professional Craft Degree with a ceramics focus from Haywood Community College.

For Sonja, working with clay fosters a sense of connection with the Earth, and provides a medium for her need to create objects that balance beauty, whimsy and function.

Sonja currently resides in Sioux Falls South Dakota with her family and runs her own poetry studio where she teaches classes and has studio memberships.
