Dolly Parton (1946–2026)

“Dolly Parton’s legacy is not celebrity, but humanity. She was a champion of equality and literacy. She was a picture of dignity, even when dressed outrageously. Anyone who seeks to be more like Dolly is on the right track, but they’ll never get to the finish line. She came from poverty to become the most important native of Tennessee. She shared her fortunes for the good of all of us, and shared her soul in every note she sang.”

“Community is a shared story.” – Unknown

Every community has a story, and it isn't written by just one person.

It's written in the traditions passed down year after year. In the businesses that open their doors. In the volunteers who lend a hand. In the events that bring people downtown. In young people getting involved and longtime residents continuing to show up. And in all those ordinary moments when neighbors simply spend time together.

This photo from Shenfest captures just one little piece of Shenandoah's story: students painting faces, people visiting downtown, music nearby and generations sharing the same space.

No single moment tells the whole story. But put them all together, year after year, person after person, and they become the story of a community.

And it's a pretty special story to be part of. ❤️

Community is a shared story.

As far as I know the first people from the Republic of Georgia to visit the Everly House. Anana Kaye and Irakli Gabriel singing Dream.

Don’t miss the highway 2 Everly Brothers tribute east of Shenandoah about 3 miles.
