Had to share, would love these babies to stay together.
🎉Update: The girls have been adopted together! Thank you for all the shares that made this possible!
Whelp, Muffin and Crumpet were returned due to no fault of their own. It was very heartbreaking to see them freak out trying to jump over the counter to get to their new mom. 😔💔 We always want our adopters to be happy with their new family members, and we always take our animals back no matter what….but MAN, that was really freaking hard to watch.
The owner kept saying they were perfect. She just wasn’t ready for two. Returned like they were a shirt that just didn’t fit right at the department store. They are very sad and just don’t understand what they did wrong.
These two have been through so much. Their original owner had to give them up after loving them their whole lives, they went to foster after spending some time in the shelter, but sadly that did not work out for them so they came back to the shelter. Then they were adopted, and brought back to the shelter AGAIN after only a week. It’s been one very wild month for them with lots of back and forth and uncertainty. Each time we tried to have their wellbeing at the forefront, but sometimes things just don’t work out the way we hoped. We understand. But it’s still hard.
We want the next time they leave to be THE LAST time that they ever have to pack their things and have their world turned upside down. And we know asking to adopt two is a lot. So we are considering separating them into two different homes if that is what gets them into their happily ever afters. We don’t want to, but being in a stressful shelter for long periods of time as a tiny chiweenie takes its toll.
This is our last attempt at finding them a home together before we start accepting applications for them individually.
Please. If you have it in your heart and home to add two 6 and 7 year old mother/daughter chiweenies that have to be the only animals in the home, then please apply today.
We know this post is heartbreaking, but please try to send only words of encouragement.
