Shelburne Falls Trolley Museum Ride the No. 10 Trolley in the same freight yard where it used to load and unload passengers, apples, milk and freight. Open Memorial Day through October, Sat Sun Hol 11am - 5pm. Pump car rides too!

Visit our operating museum, located near the Historic Bridge of Flowers, glacial potholes and village of Shelburne Falls. You can take a ride on Trolley No. 10 and our old fashioned pump car (not suitable for small children), browse historical photos from the time of trolleys in our Visitors Center, climb into our big red Caboose, and afterwards stroll among the artisan shops, galleries and restaurants in Shelburne Falls. Also Mon 1pm-5pm in July and August.

It's foliage season in Shelburne Falls Massachusetts Area. The Trolley Museum is open Saturday and Sunday 11am-5pm, and this week also open Monday for the holiday 11am-5pm. The rain is forecast for just Sunday night, so come enjoy a beautiful day in West County.

The fall colors are starting to pop in Shelburne Falls! Saturday is our final Speeder Day for the season. We are open Saturdays and Sundays until Oct 31 11-5. We will also be open for Indigenous People's Day on Oct 12 11-5.

While recognizing that the weekend's nor-easter was big deal in parts of the region, for us it was a snore-easter. We moved most of our Trolleyfest activities into the Car Barn but only had a few sprinkles and a few gusts. Lots of guests came despite the forecast. We had music by Whistlestop on the trolley, caboose and velocipede and speeder rides and a vintage bus. No one was kayaking in the streets but some of our volunteers did kayak from our Volunteer after-party to the Bridge of Flowers and back.
We will be open 11-5 on Sat and Sun and IPs Day until Oct 31.
Speeder rides will be available Sat Oct 3.

Trolleyfest is tomorrow! Yes, it will be rainy but you can ride the trolley, caboose and speeder without being in the rain. We have moved many of the hands-on activities and demos into the Car Barn to keep dry. Bring a raincoat so you can stay dry between your auto and the Visitors Center and for the short walk to the caboose and speeder and Car Barn. Pump car and velocipede riders should expect to be out in the weather. Come early to beat the weather.

Amherst Railway Society has continued their long-time support of SFTM by making a $1000 Heritage Grant to our Line Car fund. This leaves us with a very small gap to make our $33,000 match for our Massachusetts Cultural Facilities Fund Grant. We've been making progress on the restoration as well, with one truck's brakes rebuilt and the truck back under the car, and the other truck under way, as well as more work on the wooden body frame and steel bumpers/anti-climbers.

Our Projects team has been busy at SFTM. Brian is painting and rebuilding two mainline signals for our soon-to-come Signal Garden and Phil and Nash and Larry have been building a wooden trough for hanging the trolley wire over Stall 1 of the Car Barn.

Saturday 9/5 is another Speeder Day at SFTM! Besides our usual trolley car and pump car rides you can ride on a vintage gas-powered "speeder" ("motor car", "inspection car", "putt-putt') with one of our volunteers. Speeders were used to inspect track and do maintenance work on the tracks.

The foliage hasn't started changing yet (much), but the Bridge of Flowers is beautiful right now as are the green hills.
We are open 11am-5pm Saturdays and Sundays, and also 11-5 for Labor Day!
