Etruscan vase . Rome Italy. I think it’s interesting how pots and imagery can look so similar to other cultures . Native American motifs in relation to early Persian motifs. Looking at Etruscan design along side Native American design the use of geometry, negative and positive space are quite similar. The way the image fits on pot is given great consideration when conceptualizing the overall design. Travel is a grand teacher for everyone ,the blending and cross pollination of cultures and ideas is fertile ground for an Artist. I prefer drinking from many different cultural well springs comparing and contrasting along the way. Imagine what it was like to travel the Silk Road all the artists, musicians ,food and spices . seagrovepotters

The cool weather is here for the moment and trout like it . I love looking at the patterns and colors of brook trout . As a potter I can only imagine making a glaze as spectacular as a brook trout .

Clay rocks roots and an array of other organics straight from the ground . Hand mixed and salt glazed. The drawing is distorted by huge fissures fragmenting the image. The clay speaks truth. Broken yet still holding together.
