Join us for an afternoon of live music with “Take 2 “ on Sunday, May 31
3:30 P.M.- 4:30 P.M.

A dynamic musical duo who will take you on a journey through love and laughter. There will be sing-a-longs, old favorites, and originals, bringing their love and joy to you in song.

TAKE 2 features Candice Baranello and James O’Malley, two talented artists who have each been part of the acoustic music scene for a number of years. Candice Baranello is a founding member of the acclaimed traditional folk trio, the Mountain Maidens, and is known for her powerful, expressive voice. She plays multiple instruments including the ukulele, banjo, guitar, and dulcimer.

James O'Malley is a singer-songwriter whose music has been played on radio stations across the country. He has a smooth tenor voice and a subtle, intricate guitar style, having learned fingerpicking early in his career from Erik Darling of The Weavers.

Thank you, northbound sound for a very cool night of music. The show is called deconstructing the jam which meant we watch them work out arrangements and songs in real time plus covering some funky
tunes.

Meet Author / Poet / musician Ben Diamond this Saturday:

Author Talk: A Gray Ocean of Memory by Ben Diamond

Saturday, May 9
2:00 PM - 4 P.M.

A Gray Ocean of Memory is a voyage to places you remember yet have never been, strangers who will touch your heart, and poignant poems that contain surprises wrapped inside. Ben Diamond demonstrates his keen sensibilities of diverse language, rhythm and beat, and palpable nuance to create lyric poems that will replay in your mind long past the last poem. I love this collection, and will return to it often … I know you will too.

His book will be available for sale at the event.

Phillis Levin put it beautifully: “Gray Ocean of Memory swerves into super-realism and surrealism… As a diamond disappears in water, the speaker disappears into the medium he inhabits and emerges transformed by what he encounters and recalls.

Son Stone (Ben Diamond) is a musical storyteller with a sharp lyrical edge and a rich sonic aesthetic. Blending gritty Americana, soulful rock, Hawaiian Slack Key fingerstyle, and poetic folk, his songs take listeners on deeply personal and often unexpected journeys. Two-time finalist in American Songwriter Magazine’s national songwriting contest, a published and award-winning poet and humorist, Ben’s songs have the wit of John Prine and the grit of Tom Waits.
