Ron Bedonie (1967-2024) is highly regarded for his intricate heavy stamp work pieces. Becoming an active silversmith in the 1980s, he began his jewelry career learning from both of his parents. Thomas Jim, a fellow silversmith, taught Bedonie stamping techniques that would later become a part of his iconic style.
Bedonie’s designs are reminiscent of the traditional Navajo jewelry produced in the late 19th and early 20th century. Thick, heavy pieces with large bezel set turquoise cabochons are characteristics in his work that reflect this period.
His own innovative use of chisel and stamp designs elevate the classic look with dimension and precise detail. The exact symmetry of each piece is a testament to Bedonie’s skill and expertise as an artist.
