🐸Weekly Highlight Time!🦇 Here are a few random moments from our shop on Jay Street in Upstate New York. Our minimum hours at our Schenectady location are Wednesday through Saturday 11am to 5pm and Sunday from 10am to 3pm.

1) These friends were happily celebrating getting the frog from the Cherry Blossom Series Sonny Angel Hippers.
2) We had to order more of everyone’s favorite buttons!
3) Rosemary colored Taylor’s coloring page for the Nightmare Market on Jay Street!

5) We’ve restocked our Foam Brain Games dice sets!
6) Our wooden outdoor sign is getting the full spa treatment.
7) These sticker books by Brass Monkey Goods look so good all lined up and restocked.
8) Gabby, Lauren, and Natalia make for the cutest sketched BFFs at the Blackwing test station.
9) The game section has a few subcategories, this one is art.

Starry Night is a DIY replica of a vintage Orrery mechanical model of the solar system, illustrating the planets and moons' relative positions and motions. The planets are made of colorful decorative spheres, which circle the sun while the music box plays its tune: "Memory" from Cats.

Includes step-by-step, easy to follow DIY assembly instructions. All tools included.
Average assembly time is 2.5 hours.

Laser-cut technology makes the wooden puzzle pieces pop out smooth with no burrs or rough edges. 84 piece, non-toxic plywood set. Recommended for ages 14+.

At our South Florida location! Tip Your Bartender, and Stay Groovy! Musical Artwork by Hopeless Moon Romantic is on exhibit through July 12, 2026 at Bear and Bird South Florida. Come see the original artwork of South Florida artist Amanda Macabre-Parker aka Hopeless Moon Romantic.

Artist reception:
Saturday, June 6, from 4:30-6pm.

Amanda Macabre-Parker is a multidisciplinary visual artist from South Florida whose work centers on pinup-inspired figures as reflections of resilience, transformation, and emotional survival. Influenced by manga, comic book illustration, and classic pinup artwork, her characters are guided by music—each piece begins with a song that marked a specific chapter of her life, shaping the posture, mood, and emotional presence of the figure.

Working across watercolor, oil, acrylic on wood, and digital media, she incorporates layered textures and light-reactive materials, including UV-responsive and glow elements that shift with their environment. Many works are created live, embracing process and imperfection as part of the narrative.

Film, professional wrestling, and pop culture references function as personal scripture within her practice—sources of strength and courage embedded in the imagery. She references the band Glassjaw in her artwork, with their symbol incorporated in the composition in some way. This reference honors and shows gratitude towards the connection to the divine that she feels through their music, which serves as a lifelong grounding gateway to her serenity.

She is currently illustrating and writing her first comic, expanding her visual world through sequential storytelling and character-driven mythology.
