ART NIGHT IS TONIGHT! 5-8 pm! Come kick off the opening of our summer through fall 2026 art show to benefit the child advocacy center of Schenectady! 30% of all art sold goes directly to the charity 70% goes to the artist themselves. Will also have raffles to benefit the charity, live music out on the porch, a painting demo by Lyndsay Grimes (Damsel), and snacks! Bring a pop-up chair if you’d like to sketch on the lawn while you enjoy some tunes! It’s going to be such a fun and beautiful evening. Can’t wait to see you all there 5 to 8 PM.

Open Art Time is a relaxed, lightly guided studio session. There's no formal lesson or set project. Work on whatever you're inspired to create, at your own pace. I'll be available throughout the session if you'd like advice, troubleshooting help, suggestions, or a little creative encouragement.
-BYO supplies: Participants bring their own materials and supplies.
-No formal instruction: This is independent creative time in a group setting, with optional guidance.
-All skill levels welcome.

Art Exhibition Benefiting the Child Advocacy Center

Join Mohawk Valley Art Shoppe & Last Nerve Tattoo for a special evening celebrating local art and community during Art Night Schenectady.

Experience the opening reception for our Summer/Fall 2026 Local Art Show, featuring original works by local artists, live music, complimentary refreshments, and an Outdoor Sketch Club Garden Party (weather permitting).

This exhibition is more than a celebration of creativity—it's an opportunity to give back. Thirty percent of all artwork sales and 100% of raffle ticket proceeds will be donated to the Child Advocacy Center, helping support their vital work for children and families in our community.

Join Ottavia Huang for a plein air watercolor workshop at Mohawk Valley Art Shoppe, located at 701 Union St., Schenectady. You'll learn how to capture the beauty of the outdoors through watercolor while developing your observation, composition, and sketching skills.

Ottavia will demonstrate techniques for simplifying a scene, sketching with ink, and painting in watercolor. Whether you're new to plein air painting or looking to build confidence painting on location, this workshop offers personalized guidance in a supportive, relaxed atmosphere.

Please bring:

Your watercolor paints and brushes
A watercolor sketchbook or watercolor paper
A fine-tip Micron pen or other waterproof fine-liner

Getting our signs up!! Thanks to the wizardry and expert craftsmanship of Micah Williams from Last Nerve Tattoo we have this awesome pergola top! The posts are going to be painted to match the building eventually and the frame for the signs will be black like it was before we moved. Anyhoo come visit us at 701 Union!
