Open by appointment, call 815-275-1958 (Ann). We opened in 2011 as a venue of exciting and constantly changing events and exhibits. Museum collections include a Civil War Soldier Gallery, Railroads of Savanna, Wayne King America's Waltz King-Area Musicians Room and Helen Scott Hay, Red Cross nurse. The Savanna Historical Society is excited to announce we have been recognized by Illinois Humanities as part of its investment in 50 organizations across Illinois. Preserving history means preserving the lessons, stories, and experiences that shape our communities.

Watch KWQC Monday at 6 am and 6 pm and see our newest hometown hero!!!! Ann R. Zink!!!!!! Please share this for us, to let everybody know! This lady donates her time at the carroll county historical society ..... the savanna food pantry ....... her church..... the generals in galena ...... and the savanna museum and cultural center as one of the remaining two founding members (the other is Keith Brown), the museum secretary, events coordinator and schedules all the help we need at the museum!!!! She is always the first one to raise her hand when anybody needs help! So well deserved!!! Thank you Ann.
