It's been a hot minute. I just got home from a month in Wisconsin and had to play with some color on a bigger canvas immediately. It felt soooo good to play. I'm not sure I remember how to paint anymore after so much relaxation, LOL. But I'll get back in the groove.

Here's a little photo dump of my experiences. I went inside the building where my old studio used to be in Milwaukee. I visited a circus museum in baraboo and a couple of galleries in Milwaukee. I found the motherlode while morel hunting! Yay! I got to hang out with my sisters and my Mom and my daughter. Gus got to see his best friend. Being in Wisconsin among friends and family was so good for my soul, but I truly did miss Sarasota and I'm happy to be back.

The color in this is inspired by my love for the bright, tropical colors of Florida. It's good to be home ❤️

I'm in the news!!! Well, my art anyway.
Bay News 9 filmed a story on the opening of Horizon West Bay in Largo Florida. You can see my tapestry installed in the entry and two other paintings in this short clip (edited for the reel, full story link below). SO exciting! They have several other paintings of mine in their permanent collection as well. They officially open May 19th. I can't wait to attend the ribbon cutting in June.

Good morning from the fields and forests of Wisconsin! Gus and I wanted to pop in and say hi with our pajamas and messy hair. We are up north, recharging after a very busy "season" and gearing up for our next adventures in art. I woke up at 3:47 a.m. thinking about this painting. It's kind of a one-off, but I like it and maybe I want to make a series based on this. I feel like sometimes the universe sends ideas in dreams and you run with them or send them on their way. I am intrigued by this one.

The title of this piece is Wild & Persistent.
Lately I've been feeling like we need some more badass divine feminine energy in this world of ours.
This girl? She will not blink at being called girly, princess - she EMBRACES it... she's been through it and she will come out on top.
Every. 👏 Damn. 👏 Time. 👏
She's nurturing. She's strong. She's understanding, but don't mess. She does it all, and with style and grace.
Three cheers for the badass women in our lives. Sending love to those who are wild and persistent.

Back to an earlier style for me for this triptych and a slightly different color palette, but this commission still feels so much like me.
Some people ask, especially with abstract painting, "how do you know when you're done?" You know you're done when you get chills and tears in your eyes and whisper YESSSSS.
I will ask them to title it.
