Sullivan Goss - An American Gallery Celebrating 36 years of 19th, 20th and 21st Century American Art. Sullivan Goss - An American Gallery has represented the work of American artists for 30 years.

The contributions of these artists, from the 19th century to today, can be found in our two galleries in downtown Santa Barbara, California. With an inventory of over 3,000 works, including paintings, watercolors, drawings, prints and sculptures, Sullivan Goss is the primary West Coast gallery positioned to help build private and public collections of important American art. The gallery is constantly seeking to acquire works by significant American painters and sculptors who worked between 1850 and 1950 including those artists referred to as luminists, impressionists, expressionists and modernists. Our Santa Barbara location offers approximately twenty exhibitions each year, including solo shows for contemporary artists and curated historical exhibitions. The gallery, through its research efforts, is also involved with scholarship and research for American artists.

The contemporary ceramics by James Haggerty are a lovely compliment.

Sullivan Goss is a proud sponsor of this innovative symposium for the second year in a row. One of the things that makes Santa Barbara incredible is the mix of artistic heritage and cutting edge technology that happen right in our backyard. If you are interested in how artists are using the latest technology to invent new kinds of creative expression, this is a DO NOT MISS event.

Hank Pitcher's monumental painting "Magic Forest, Scrub Jay" has recently been installed in the UCSB main library. The painting was donated by a local collector to the university's AD&A museum in 2023, and the museum has loaned it to the library where it will be enjoyed by thousands of students.
